What is Seller Score?

Starting August 26, 2024 , your shipping speed rate will be replaced with a new KPI called “Shipment Speed ,” which will reflect how quickly you prepare and ship your orders: the faster the better, as it allows us to deliver orders to your customers quickly, increasing their satisfaction and likelihood to purchase from you again in the future.

1. What is Seller Score?

As Jumia is a marketplace, customers need to ensure trust, safety and other relevant information to choose a particular seller. Thus,  your Seller Score informs your customers about the quality of your store .
It is updated every Monday based on your performance of the last 4 weeks i.e. your shipping speed rate for out of stock and your return rate for poor quality.

The objective of the Seller Score is to:

– Increase your visibility on the Site

– Allow consumers to choose the most reliable sellers.

 

2. Where can you see your Seller Score?

You can view your Seller Score on the Vendor Center home page.

Your score is very important to your consumers as they value it before purchasing your products.  Aim for a  score above 3 to be among the best Jumia sellers.

– The “Shipping Speed” will reflect how quickly you prepare and ship your orders. The sooner you do this, the better, as it allows us to deliver orders to your customers more quickly, increasing their satisfaction and the likelihood that they will order your products again in the future.

-“ Product Quality ” is the percentage of your orders that are refused or returned by customers due to quality defects.

– Average Customer Rating Corresponds to the average of all product ratings received from customers after their orders during the same period as that used to calculate the Seller Score  (last 4 weeks) .


3. How does your seller score impact your store?

– Top sellers with a seller score of 5/5 will be rewarded with the most valuable currency on Jumia: increased visibility .

– Bad sellers with a Seller Score below 3/5 will have low visibility and will be charged additional fees based on their current commissions on Jumia to contribute to our operational costs.

5. How to optimize your Seller Score?

• To have a low shipping speed rate:

– Deliver your orders faster (in less than 24 hours)

– Update your inventory to avoid stock outs

• To have the lowest possible rate of returns due to quality problems:

– Carefully check each product delivered to customers.

– Test samples of your products at the supplier

– Do not ship any product with quality problems.

– Provide user manuals

– Pay attention to the ratings and comments of your products given by your customers in order to improve the quality of your items.
